BLACKPINK members Lisa, Jennie and Rosé, along with SEVENTEEN leader S.Coups, make history on the blue carpet at the 2025 Met Gala; watch!
The night of last Monday, the 5th, was marked by stars from the world of music, sports, cinema, among other areas of entertainment, parading on the blue carpet of the Met Gala 2025. This year, the event was organized by rappers A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, actor Colman Domingo and athletes Lewis Hamilton and LeBron James, who brought big names as guests, including Rihanna, Zendaya, Cynthia Erivo, Timothée Chalamet, among others.
K-pop was also present with the participation of three of the four members of BLACKPINK, Rosé, Lisa and Jennie, in addition to the leader of SEVENTEEN, Choi Sungcheol, known artistically as S.Coups.
Under the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, in Portuguese translated to “Superfino: A Alfaiataria do Estilo Negro”, showing the black influence and identity in fashion through tailoring, the edition followed the dress code “Tailored For You”, that is, “Made to Measure For You”, which, according to the organization was “purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation.”
Therefore, artists from the current South Korean scene have exuded elegance when dressed by luxury brands from the fashion world such as Channel, Louis Vuitton, BOSS and Yves Saint Laurent.
Making his first appearance at the Met Gala, S.Coups becomes the new ambassador for HUGO BOSS. Thus, the SEVENTEEN leader’s outfit was inspired by a modern reinterpretation of the Korean hanbok, a traditional East Asian garment.
Being one of the first to arrive at the event, Jennie wore a tuxedo from the luxury French brand created by Coco Chanel.
Lisa, who made her debut at the 2025 Met Gala, wore a tailored blazer with sheer tights and black lace panties by Louis Vuitton. Following the dress code imposed by the edition, the outfit was inspired by models from Monica L. Miller’s book, “Slaves of Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Style of Black Diasporic Identity.”
Finally, Rosé attended another event as an ambassador for Yves Saint Laurent, wearing a tailored suit, similar to a dress, as well as a necklace from Tiffany & Co.’s ‘Out of Blue’ collection.
The singer, in fact, when asked during an interview on the blue carpet what it felt like to have her groupmates with her in this 2025 edition, responded that “it’s the best feeling”, feeling more familiar and anxious to spend the night with Lisa and Jennie, in addition to stating that they had recently been in South Korea producing BLACKPINK’s new album.
The classic event, which takes place in New York, in the United States, aims to bring together several renowned names from the world of celebrities for the annual fundraising donation for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, located in Manhattan.
Always held on the first Monday in May, the editions are characterized by different specific themes for the guests’ dress code. Thus, 2025 marked the return of the dress code inspired by men’s fashion in more than two decades.
