Voting for the best K-POP rapper award gathered more than 7 million votes

BTS’s Suga was the big winner of the TOP 100 – MALE RAPPERS, a vote conducted by @TOP100KPOP, where the winning rapper received a trophy. Suga won the grand finale with over 1,219,621 votes. Congratulations!

Second place in the TOP 100 went to the excellent rapper G-DRAGON, who received 1,213,981 votes; it was a close race. Third place went to another great K-POP rapper, J-HOPE, who rounded out the TOP 3 with 230,000 votes. In fourth and fifth place we close the TOP 5 with two other BTS members, RM with 219,783 votes and JUNG KOOK next with 196,722 votes.

In the rest of the TOP 10, we have GOT7’s BAMBAM in sixth place with 57,126 votes, seventh place went to TVXQ’s U-KNOW with 35,567 votes, and in eighth place was ROCKY with 33,580 votes. To close the TOP 10 we have two members of STRAY KIDS in ninth and tenth place: CHANGBIN and HAN with 29,137 and 28,789 votes respectively.

The TOP 100 – MALE RAPPERS was a vote that took place in 4 phases until the grand final. Throughout each phase, the rappers with the most votes advanced to the next phase and reached the grand final in the dispute for the trophy for best rapper.

The rest of the TOP 100 – MALE RAPPERS also includes members of TEMPEST, NEXZ, ASTRO, 2PM, TXT, GOT7, NCT 127, ENHYPEN, IKON, EXO, SHINEE, B.A.P, SUPER JUNIOR, NCT DREAM, Ṕ1HARMONY, XDINARY HEROES, MONSTA X, ATEEZ and other groups.

#1 SUGA

Suga is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, and music producer. He became popularly known as a member of the group BTS, formed by Big Hit Entertainment in 2013. In 2010, before debuting with BTS, he was part of an underground rap group in his hometown called D-Town. On August 15, 2016, he released his first mixtape, titled Agust D, which featured two music videos for the singles “Agust D” and “Give it to Me.” The album was included in Fuse’s list of the 20 best mixtapes of 2016. In 2020, he released his second mixtape, D-2, which peaked at number 11 in the United States, number seven in the United Kingdom, and number two in Australia.

#2 G-DRAGON

G-Dragon is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, music producer, entrepreneur, and fashion designer. He has also branched out into fashion design and philanthropy. He began his musical career at the age of six, when he joined the children’s group Little Roo’Ra. After the group’s contract ended, he became a trainee with S.M. Entertainment for five years. Soon after leaving and developing an interest in hip hop, he became a trainee with YG Entertainment at the age of thirteen, after catching the attention of Sean of the hip hop duo Jinusean. In 2006, he gained popularity as a member of the boy group Big Bang, which debuted that same year.

#3 J-HOPE

J-Hope is a South Korean rapper, dancer, songwriter, and record producer. He is popularly known as a member of the boy band BTS. He released Hope World, his first solo mixtape, in 2018. The album received positive critical acclaim and peaked at number 38 on the Billboard 200 in the United States, the highest position for a Korean artist at the time. In 2019, the single “Chicken Noodle Soup,” featuring singer Becky G, debuted at number 81 on the Billboard Hot 100. His debut album, Jack in the Box, was released on July 15, 2022.
