BTS is a South Korean K-pop group that has become one of the biggest musical phenomena of the 21st century. Formed by Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE Corporation), the group officially debuted on June 13, 2013, with seven members: RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

From the beginning, BTS has drawn attention for its deep and authentic lyrics, which address topics such as mental health, youth, self-love, social pressures, and dreams. Unlike many other artists in the genre, the group has always been directly involved in the composition and production of its songs, which further strengthened the connection with fans.

BTS’ international success began to intensify around 2017, when they won awards in the United States, such as the Billboard Music Awards, and made appearances on popular programs such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. With albums such as Love Yourself, Map of the Soul: 7 and BE, the group broke records for sales, YouTube views and Billboard chart positions.

One of BTS’s greatest differentiators is its global fandom, known as ARMY (Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth), which plays a fundamental role in the group’s success. The relationship between BTS and its fans is based on respect, affection and mutual recognition.

In addition to music, BTS is also very active in social causes. They have joined forces with UNICEF in the “Love Myself” campaign against violence against children and young people, and were invited to speak at the UN General Assembly – a rare feat for artists in the entertainment industry.

The members of BTS are currently at different stages in their careers, with some serving their mandatory military service and others pursuing solo projects. Despite this, the group has already announced plans to reunite as a full group after 2025.

BTS is not just a K-pop group: it is a cultural movement that has transcended borders, languages and social barriers, inspiring millions of people around the world with its art, message and humanity.
